Job Title: Registered Dietitian - Medical Nutrition Counselor
Hours: Two days a week, to start. Approximately 8-15 hours per week, one weekend and one weekday
Location: Littleton, CO (must be located within driving distance)
Sessions with patients will be conducted virtually and in-person (with proper CDC safety protocols in place). Although some sessions may be virtual, the position requires the Registered Dietitian to conduct all sessions in the Littleton office.
Details: Nutrition Center of Colorado is looking for an exceptional Registered Dietitian who is available to work per diem on two days a week for a total of approximately 8-15 hours/week. Registered Dietitian will perform medical nutrition counseling for approximately 5-10 patients weekly, with the potential to increase hours and patients. Registered Dietitian must be professional, have a passion for people and nutrition counseling, is detail oriented, a life-long learner, and have 2+ years of nutrition counseling experience. The ideal candidate has a speciality, advanced degree, certification, or expertise in a specific area of nutrition (such as eating disorder nutrition).

Key job responsibilities include, not limited to:
Medical Nutrition Counseling:

Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy (MNT) via virtual and in-person sessions to patients with a variety of health and lifestyle needs

Provide tailored nutrition education, counseling, assessments, guidance, and motivational interviewing to patients

Document care and patient records in electronic medical record according to HIPAA standards

Manage and retain patients with a variety of chronic health conditions and backgrounds, such as ALS, current/post chemotherapy, diabetes, dysphagia, weight loss,

Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients through HIPAA-compliant video calls, in-person sessions, and electronic messaging
Exceptional Customer Service:

Provide exceptional customer service to our all current and future clients

This may be done through various types of communication, such as phone, video calls, email, or in person.

During the first contact, explanation of services, how insurance works, and what to expect will be some key talking points.
Onboarding and maintenance:
-
Onboard new clients and maintenance of current clients
-
Scheduling, ensuring all forms are completed, and reviewing benefits with clients

Invoicing for co-pays, self-pays, and deductibles

Efficiency at working with an interdisciplinary team

Motivated to communicate with physicians and fax progress reports and notes to care team
Skills:
-
Strong academic and applied background in medical nutrition therapy across a variety of health conditions and diet therapy

2+ years experience providing nutrition counseling to patients

Effective written and verbal communication skills with colleagues, patients, and care team

Ability to learn new technology and software and integrate it into practice

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Organizational skills and ability to accomplish work independently
Requirements:

B.S. Degree from an accredited institution

Credentialing as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

Maintenance of continuing education

Minimum 2+ years of professional experience in dietetics, preferably nutrition counseling
